Don't Judge Me!!
I have a confession to make..... last night at precisely 17:45 I received my vaccination JAB!! Yes, a doctor stuck a needle in me and wished me all the best.
I had the Pfizer jab which meant I had to wait 15 minutes to make sure there are no side effects and off home and wait for the antibodies to do there stuff.
As I have said before, there are reasons to be cheerful (although that is a bit selfish).
I haven't told many people about it but when I have I tend to get asked how I managed to get the jab...
- Sometimes I tell them I paid to jump the queue 😀 - which I didn't.
- Sometimes I tell them that I look good for an over 65 year old - and I do that to stop them from being that rude like my brother was.
- Sometimes I just tell the truth.
People are clearly judging me on what they see without knowing the facts.
We all do it.... judge people, judge customers....... without really understanding all the facts.
And this is the point of this blog....
Stop making quick judgement (or assumptions) when talking to prospects or customers and start getting all the facts. By getting the facts and understanding a prospect / customer you will be better able to offer them what they need.
From listening to some calls and seeing some of the messaging with customers I see it all the time... we are not asking enough of the right questions to make the right call when it comes to prospects or customers.
- We judge the ability of a customer to afford our service.
- We judge that the prospect is only looking for a price.
- We assume that someone will or won't choose our services.
In fact I see people making judgement calls all the time instead of understanding the facts.
My tip is start listing good questions to ask people so you can understand a situation better. And by asking questions there is less pressure on you to talk!!
Now, I do understand that we don't live in a perfect world and sometimes we all have to make a few judgement calls but too many people just can't be bothered to understand the facts and make an informed decision or action.
- So are you being too judgmental...?
- Are you listening to what prospects or customers are saying..?
- Are you asking questions and getting all the facts..?
- Are you running your business based on your "judgement" because you don't have the facts..?
Maybe time to take stock and change the way you approach certain situations, your business or life in general.
So are you going to ask me why I had the vaccination....?
The actual fact is that I was "fortunate" to be on the critically vulnerable list due to an underlying blood condition but no one would know that unless knew all the facts.
That said after watching Palace for the last few months I feel I would be moved up onto the critically vulnerable list anyway. 😂
Wishing you all the best for those anxiously waiting for their jab..... and if you don't know your date I suggest you go and find out the facts rather than just making a judgment call.
