There are only 3 ways to increase Sales in your Business
I was clearing through some files today (yes, I still print some things off 🙂) and I came across some notes that really resonated with me.
Maybe it will resonate too......??
When it comes to business growth there are JUST 3 obvious and basic principles that you must focus on;
- Increase the number of customers
- Increase the average spend from each customer
- Increase the frequency of a customer purchasing again
All of these things are in your control and you could increase your sales starting tomorrow if you implement simple changes in the way you operate.
##1 Increasing the number of customers is largely down to the activity you put into your marketing - time and money in the usual currency. No or low investment = low sales..!!!
##2 Increasing the average spend from each customer is probably the easiest one to crack;
- Put your prices up - it is rare that anyone has increased their price and then lowered it again.
- Provide more service to each customer - can a customer "go large" (ie. The MacDonalds Approach to making it easy to add more to each sale).
If a customer would benefit from what you have then it is your job to provide an opportunity for them to buy it. And potentially make it attractive in the moment. Ie, at cost that is lower than if you had to come out separately to do it. Can you bundle extra things into your service for a fixed cost...?
##3 Increase the frequency of a customer purchasing again
- Can you find a way to get your contact details into their phone in a memorable way.
- How often do you reach out to old customers to "check in"...? If you add your customers to the Customer Care Package and add them to some campaigns then it would be done automatically - and it works...!!! Trust in the process and don't be sidetracked by the few that complain that they get too many emails.
And even if you don't need more customers or customers coming back and asking for more, the increasing the average spend would still be relevant and add hugely to your profitability.
Seriously, have a think for a few minutes and I am sure you could make a few simple changes that will help.
I do hope that this will hit home with some of you.
